This forest is of remarkable interest from a heritage point of view, and covers 1,000 hectares. You can explore it using the information tables located along the marked educational trail.
You can see the “big oak”, which is 3 centuries old (5 metres in circumference) and is located at the Baraque crossroads, and the remains of the Gallo-Roman tombs (dolmens) 500 metres from the big oak, which have been the subject of excavations.
The circuit is 5.4 km long and is suitable for families.
This forest is partly managed by the National Office of Forests.
